St. Casimir’s School Principal Joanne Tibodeau accepted a $750 donation from Katie Niebuhr on behalf of the Verizon Foundation. Niebuhr qualified for the grant by volunteering over 50 hours in 2015. Niebuhr has been volunteering with Verizon Wireless since 2011 and participated in its Volunteer Incentive Program in memory of her late grandmother Jeanette Schulz.

The Volunteer Incentive Program recognizes employees’ contribution of time and talent to nonprofit organizations located in their community or surrounding areas.

“It was easy to decide where I wanted to give back. My family all started our education at St. Casimir’s and my mom was an educator there for over forty years. It was fun to go back and help out with school events and projects,” Niebuhr commented.
