Iverson admitted
to Bethany
Emma Iverson of Hayward has been accepted for admission to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. Founded in 1927, Bethany is a private residential liberal arts college. Iverson is a senior at Albert Lea High School.
Area student recognized
Haley Schroader was named to the Iowa State University dean’s list for the fall semester.
Christianson named
to dean’s list
Tim Christianson of Albert Lea was named to the fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts in the Twin Cities.
Christianson is also on the Golden Gophers wrestling team coached by J. Robinson.
To qualify for the honor roll, traditional undergraduate students must earn a 3.66 or better grade point average while carrying at least 12 credit hours.
Schindler receives award
Daniel Schindler, son of Gary and Jeanne Schindler of Albert Lea, was recently awarded the W.F. Albright Institute of Archeological Research Award for his doctoral dissertation studies. Schindler, a 2005 graduate of Albert Lea High School, is a doctoral candidate and adjunct instructor at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He will spend a month this summer at the Albright Institute in Jerusalem as a visiting scholar and will engage in additional research on his dissertation. In addition, Schindler coauthored with Jodi Magness a journal article for American Schools of Oriental Research entitled, “Pottery and Jewish Settlement in Late Roman Galilee.”
Winkels graduates from NDSU
North Dakota State University has released its list of students who graduated in the fall semester. Among those receiving their degree was Elizabeth Mary Winkels, who received her degree in accountancy.
Kermes recognized
Students named to the fall semester 2015 dean’s list were recently announced by the Office of the Registrar at University of Minnesota in Crookston. Students on the fall semester dean’s list include Sage Kermes of Hayward. To qualify for a place on the dean’s list, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.
Wartburg releases
dean’s list
Wartburg College has recognized 489 students who were named to the 2015 fall semester dean’s list. Those honored include Morgan Ciota of Albert Lea, Sara Sanderson of Albert Lea, Taylor Jensen of Clarks Grove, Haley Harms of Albert Lea and Makenzie Thorson of Lake Mills.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above in at least five course credits during the term. Four of the five course credits must be graded with a traditional letter grade.
