A local family has come together to launch a new vehicle repair shop on West Ninth Street.
Hensche Motorized Enterprises is at 606 W. Ninth St., the former location of Albert Lea Tree Service.
The family is renovating the building and turning it into a place truck drivers can stay while work is being done on their vehicles.
The company offers light, medium and heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance and repair, basic car maintenance and light repair and welding services.
Dave Hensche said he got the property about nine months ago and spent about six months cleaning up the shop.
Though the business has already opened, work is ongoing on some of the amenities. When completed, there will be a laundry area, shower area and a lounge for customers with a TV and kitchenette. There are also three offices.
Hensche said he has been involved in automotive mechanics since he was 18 and a few years back started to drive a semi. He is also involved with a separate business called Waletich Transportation where he helps take care of semi owner-operators’ needs.
Hensche’s son, Dalton Hensche, is also a mechanic and will be at the shop as well.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Hensche’s mother, Jan Reshetar, and his wife, Lori, are running the office.
Hensche’s brother, Dan, is involved with the promotion and advertising of the shop.
Dave Hensche said he hopes to target the business for farmers.
Dan Hensche said the company is versatile and should be an asset to truckers who need work done in the evenings or on weekends.
The company will host a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 27. There will be refreshments, door prizes and old cars on display.
Hensche Motorized Enterprises is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Fridays and is open on call on Saturdays and Sundays.
