ST. PAUL — St. Paul police said a school bus driver apparently fell asleep before crashing into three parked cars and nearly striking a building.
A police spokesman said 31-year-old Mohamed Wasuge of St. Paul was mailed a citation Wednesday for careless driving.
Eighteen students were heading to West Side Summit Charter School when the crash happened Monday morning. Two students and an adult bus monitor were briefly hospitalized for aches and pains.
According to a press release, court records show that Wasuge has been convicted of traffic violations at least 11 times since 2003.
A home phone number for Wasuge could not be found.
