Taste of Heritage Festival committee looking for exhibitors

The Taste of Heritage committee is busy working on this year’s festival, which will be from 1 to 3 p.m. April 9 at Northbridge Mall, and is currently looking for exhibitors. If you are interested in sharing the story of your ancestry with the community, call Teresa Kauffmann at 377-4380.
According to a press release, the Taste of Heritage Festival is a multi-cultural event designed to celebrate the varied heritage of community members, past and present. The festival is at Northbridge Mall, with displays telling the story of the heritage of the exhibitor. Some of the displays include samples of food from the region. The festival also includes a children’s area with many fun craft activities.Entertainment this year will include singers from the elementary school, Irish cloggers, a Mariachi band and St. Theodore Catholic School students will sing songs of peace. According to a press release, the festival has been in existence for seven years and has been heavily attended each year.
Taste of Heritage is sponsored by the city of Albert Lea’s Human Rights Commission, Riverland Community College Multicultural Services, Albert Lea Convention and Visitors Bureau, Freeborn County Historical Museum and Village and the Roland Hanson and Kay L. Hanson Foundation.
