The next meeting for the American Association of University Women will be at 5:30 p.m. April 4 at America’s Best Value Inn in Albert Lea. The topic is “Pork, More Than Just the Other White Meat.” The speaker is Amanda Tank.

Tank is a doctor of veterinary medicine who works part-time for Validus Verification Services headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. Validus provides audits and assessments to verify socially responsible animal welfare, environment, on-farm security and worker care production practices. Amanda joined Validus in 2014 and is based in Hayfield.

Tank is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Swine Veterinarians. She has had articles published in scientific and professional journals.

The menu will consist of mini chicken salad croissant with fresh fruit and coffee for $11.
