Friend did not deserve to get kicked to the curb

I am fortunate to have a longtime friend who I admire for her strength, determination and passion. These qualities are evident to whomever knows her, personally and professionally, in all she’s involved in past or present: her love of family, empathy for those falling on hard times, activities of her children and grandchildren, her job, church, United Way, 4-H and many others.

As for her job, she held various banking positions for 13 years, most recently, as branch manager. She was dedicated to her job and the patrons she regularly came in contact with.

Recently, the rural, small town bank where she worked was acquired by a large bank in Albert Lea. What I can’t fathom is how someone of her caliber could be kicked to the curb without being offered another position without talking to her about her skills or previous work history, etc. This is perplexing not only to me but to other local patrons of that smaller bank branch.

By the way, did I tell you that this amazing woman has also been battling cancer for several months?
