National Women’s History Month celebrated

The American Association of University Women celebrated the month of March as National Women’s History Month on Monday at America’s Best Value Inn in Albert Lea. Carol Rask, president, brought the meeting to order and conducted the business meeting. Guest speaker, John V. Smith, spoke on Women’s History and shared contributions of Susan B. Anthony and Harriet Tubman. Smith also presented each attendee with a rose donated by Hy-Vee and provided the  group with a proclamation signed by Mayor Vern Rasmussen, Jr. honoring the women of AAUW and declaring March 7 as AAUW Day in Albert Lea. - Provided
