Shopko recently announced that it is partnering with the Lions Club for Project Eyecare, a program that provides complimentary eye exams and eyewear to children in need.
“Our club truly appreciates the Project Eyecare program through Shopko” said Peggy Daluge, Lions Club member. “They enable our Lions Club to help qualified children and adults obtain better vision care. We look forward to working with Shopko again in 2016.”
The Lions Club identifies up to five qualified children for each Shopko store who receive complimentary eye examinations and eyeglasses from Shopko and its doctors of optometry. Doctors donate their services, and Shopko Eyecare Centers provide materials at no cost to the patient. Since starting Project Eyecare in 1999, Shopko has helped thousands of people see the world in a whole new way.
“In our 16th year of providing free eyecare and eyewear, we are grateful to our passionate team members for helping us make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Shopko Senior Vice President of Retail Health and Wellness Darren Singer. “Their tremendous support has allowed Shopko and the Lions Club to help children who would otherwise not receive essential eyecare and the quality eyewear they need to succeed in school and perform their best at play.”
