With all due respect, now that Super Tuesday is over, I hope Ms. Vogt-Erickson can turn her energy into writing about the reasons why any true American would want to vote for either of the candidates running for her party.  The conservatives have had 17 excellent men and women vying for a spot on the primary ticket. The left offers two candidates: one an avowed socialist who doesn’t believe in our Democratic republic form of government, and the other a woman whose criminal prosecution is being delayed under the current administration.

Maybe you can convince us why we should be proud of either of those offerings. Specifically, perhaps you can shed some light on how the ideology of the average American shifted to socialism without examining the historical results of countries that have instituted it.

In reality, socialism plays out much differently than what college professors portray it to be.

Our country is in trouble spiritually, morally and politically. Mayberry no longer exists, but I’m hopeful that, as Americans, we can focus on the things we have in common rather than our differences. Thus, we may be able to truthfully refer to ourselves, once again, as United States citizens — united as one people in the greatest country on earth.
