An Albert Lea man pleaded guilty on Monday in Freeborn County District Court to selling methamphetamine to a South Central Drug Task Force informant in October.
Timothy Lowell Millhouse, 46, entered the plea to one count of first-degree sale of controlled substances as part of a plea agreement with the Freeborn County Attorney’s Office.
As part of the agreement, a charge of second-degree sale of controlled substance — tied to a separate alleged sale of meth from the same month — is expected to be dismissed at sentencing, along with a drug possession charge and charges tied to a high-speed chase last June, said Assistant Freeborn County Attorney David Walker.
Millhouse reportedly sold a little over 10 grams of meth to an informant on Oct. 19 at Trail’s Travel Center, Walker said. The meth sold for $600, according to court documents.
Walker said he will recommend Millhouse serve at least six years and two months in prison, which is on the lower end of the presumptive sentence for the charge, and it is likely the defense will ask for probation.
Millhouse is slated to be sentenced Sept. 1.
First-degree sale of controlled substances carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
