Austin man killed after being struck by a vehicle

HOLLANDALE—An Austin man was killed Saturday night after he was struck by a vehicle east of Hollandale.
Alex Dylan Tapp, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 23595 890th Ave., two miles west of the Mower County line, shortly after 9 p.m. on a report of a man who had been struck by a vehicle.
According to a news release, Tapp was struck by a 2000 Chevy Suburban that was driving through a pasture behind the residence.
Tapp was reportedly attending a social gathering at the pasture with several other individuals.
Witnesses and deputies tried CPR before Tapp was pronounced dead.
Tapp was transported to Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The crash is under investigation.
Assisting agencies included Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Police Department, Hollandale first responders, Austin and Albert Lea Gold Cross ambulances and the Minnesota State Patrol.
