Project: Health and well-being for aging populations

Report: Senior Resources currently offers two support groups each month throughout the year; respite care is available during the group time so caregivers are free to participate. Caregiver respite is an ongoing project in which volunteers provide the caregiver for a break from caregiving routines.

The organization also provides powerful tools for caregivers including classes that are developed by Stanford University are taught by two trained facilitators; six week educational series in 90 minute sessions; in-home respite care; and helps to develop skills and confidence to encourage self-care for the caregiver.

Living well with chronic health conditions which include teaching self-management techniques. Curriculum teaches techniques for dealing with pain and fatigue, ideas for better nutrition and exercise, communication techniques dealing with emotions and ways to speak with health care providers and family members about their health.
