Report: The grant received from the Freeborn County Community Foundation was put into the Community Cornerstone roofing project.
AZ-One purchased the building with the dream of creating a safe, fun, drug and alcohol free environment to meet the relational and spiritual needs of individuals in addition recovery, according to a press release. A very important part of addiction recovery is making new relationships that are supportive and encouraging.
Currently there are four different drug and alcohol recovery groups that host meetings at Community Cornerstone each week. The plan is to also start a celebrate recovery weekly meeting this coming year.
The Community Cornerstone’s plan for the future includes having training in life skills and leadership as well.
According to a press release, the mission of AZ-One is “Bringing hope to people in need by inspiring, equipping and mobilizing the Body of Christ Jesus.” Some other ways the group does this is through Shinefest, which is a service project; Rock the Block, which fixes up homes; a global leadership summit, to develop better leaders; and JACOM, which are short term missions.
