Albert Lea police advise caution after car break-ins

Multiple car break-ins were reported early this morning on the south side of Albert Lea.

Reports of break-ins were still coming in as of press time.

Incidents reported prior to 7 a.m. were the following:

• A broken window on a white truck was reported at 2:38 a.m. today at 801 19th St.

• A driver’s side front window was reported broken at 2:39 a.m. today at 2315 Gene Ave. An MP3 player with a $200 value was reported missing.

• A car door was found open with contents all over the road at 3 a.m. today at 2405 Gene Ave.

• A vehicle was reported broken into and a stereo missing at 4:41 a.m. today at 800 E. 18th St. Damage was also reported to the dashboard.

• A van door was found open at 4:57 a.m. today at 809 E. 18th St.

The incidents are reportedly all connected, according to Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darin Palmer.

No suspect description is available.

Palmer advised residents to lock their car doors and remove anything of value from their vehicles.

Police stated the burglars broke windows in some of the vehicles to gain access to valuables visible from the outside.
