2 arrested for drunken driving

Albert Lea police arrested Moulaye Zeine Haidara for third-degree driving while intoxicated and second-degree test refusal at a traffic stop at 12:21 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West Main Street. Haidara was also charged with hit-and-run, open bottle and failure to transfer title.

Police arrested Brian Scott Kyllo for third-degree driving while intoxicated and third-degree test refusal during a traffic stop at 2:32 a.m. Saturday at 719 Valley Ave.

3 arrested on warrants

Jamie John Kujak, 27, turned himself in on local warrants for careless driving, disorderly conduct and domestic assault at 6:56 p.m. Monday at 411 S. Broadway.

Police arrested Jason Steven Allen, 34, on a local warrant for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and a Department of Corrections warrant at 10:34 p.m. Monday at 411 S. Broadway.

Police arrested Stanley Miller, 63, on Rice County and Hennepin County warrants at 7:04 p.m. Saturday at 817 Madison Ave.

 

Scam reported

A woman was reported as having been scammed out of $9,600 to get her grandson out of jailĀ  for a retainer for an attorney at 6:25 p.m. Saturday in Albert Lea.

 

Property damaged

A basement window was reported broken out at 11:17 a.m. Monday at 525 Edgewood Ave. No items were reported missing. Damage was estimated at $200.

A screen was reported torn off of a window of a garage and wood around a door at 6:45 p.m. Monday at 502 Columbus Ave.

 

House broken into

A house was reported broken into at 12:07 a.m. today at 1413 Frank Ave.

 

Items stolen

A burglary was reported at 12:12 p.m. Sunday at 123 S. Broadway. Cash was reportedly stolen.

LED headlight assemblies were reported stolen off of 16 new 2016 and 2017 Volvo trucks at 8:56 a.m. Friday at 1800 Sorenson Road. Loss was estimated at $32,000. The incident reportedly occurred between 8:30 p.m. Thursday and the time of the report.

A canoe was reported stolen from a park at 12:27 p.m. Friday at 500 Frank Ave. The canoe was described as being a 15-foot, old town Saranac canoe.

Several items were reported missing from a garage at 11:42 p.m. Saturday at 1604 Plainview Lane.

A mailbox was reported stolen at 10:55 a.m. Sunday at 705 Hammer Road. The mailbox reportedly included a box and a post.

A silver, red and black Trek bicycle was reported stolen at 11:46 a.m. Sunday at 1417 Frank Ave. The bike was reportedly put into an unlocked and open shed Friday.

A purse was reported stolen at 10:56 a.m. Monday from a car at Walmart. The incident allegedly occurred Thursday.
