3 Albert Lea stations offer special prices on E85 fuel

The Kwik Trip at 2611 Bridge Ave. and Freeborn County Coop locations at 302 Clark St. and 1840 Margaretha Ave. will reduce the price of E85 fuel by 85 cents per gallon from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
E85 is a cleaner-burning fuel that reduces lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions, when used in place of gasoline. E85 is for use in flex fuel vehicles only. Flex fuel vehicles can use ethanol blends or gasoline interchangeably. There is a 30 gallon limit of E85 per vehicle during the promotion.
The promotions are part of the Minnesota Corn Grower Association’s Kernel Nation daylong event which includes fun, food and educational activities for the whole family. The 45-foot long Biofuels Mobile Education Center will be open for tours from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Edgewater Bay Pavilion in Edgewater Park. Tractors and other farm equipment will be on display for kids to explore and climb behind the wheel. Food, music and prizes will be available at the park exhibit.
