Activities planned for 2-day Borderfest festival

Emmons Borderfest will span two days this year and feature music, a parade and other activities.

A dance kicks off the weekend at 8:30 p.m. Friday with music from Lake Mills-based Overtime DJ at the Emmons American Legion.

Festivities on Saturday begin at 9 a.m. with a senior center bake sale at the Emmons Senior Center.

A parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Lineup for the parade begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Lutheran church.

The library and museum will have a book sale Saturday, and a kids’ pedal pull is at noon downtown.

A car and tractor show is from noon until 3 p.m. in downtown Emmons. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

Awards with numerous door prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m. downtown.

A car and motorcycle cruise begins at 4 p.m. downtown, and a pork chop supper for Emmons Sons of the American Legion and Emmons Commercial Club is from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Musician Dunnell Lenort performs from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Legion, and Strait Run will follow from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Legion.
