- Coach Joe Sczublewski awards Jake Thompson with the Dick Seltz Big Nine Player of the Year Trophy. Thompson is the second player from Albert Lea in the last 30 years to win the award. He was also named the team’s MVP. Provided

- Mason Hammer was Albert Lea’s batting champion for the 2016 season. Hammer batted .449 with 16 RBIs and eight doubles. He also hit one home run and scored 24 runs for the Tigers.
