Fire damages shed north of Glenville

GLENVILLE — No injuries were reported from a shed fire Sunday north of Glenville.
Firefighters were dispatched to 16116 U.S. Highway 65, shortly after 1 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies reportedly found the shed engulfed in flames.
Tractors, hay bales, hay wagons and cows were reportedly inside the shed and were removed from the shed, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
The owner of the property is Aron Attig.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.
Extensive damage was sustained to building and all property inside the shed, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Albert Lea Township Fire Department Chief Chuck Carl said firefighters were able to contain damage to the barn, noting firefighters worked to keep the fire to the shed.
Fire crews remained on scene until 7 p.m.
Karl said the fire was due to natural causes from hay heating up inside the shed.
Fire departments from Glenville, Albert Lea Township, Myrtle, Hayward, London, Emmons, Twin Lakes and Conger responded. Salvation Army and Gold Cross ambulance assisted.
