Freeborn County and south central Minnesota are under a tornado watch through 10 p.m. as a storm system moves through the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Freeborn and the surrounding counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning through 5:30 p.m. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph could be expected with possible damage to roofs, siding and trees.

People are advised to move to an interior room on the lwest floor of a building in times of severe weather.
