As I read the court dispositions in the Albert Lea Tribune, it looks like most of the domestic assault cases are dismissed by Freeborn County courts. Why is this? When an abuser beats his partner and then beats the system, it sends a message that domestic violence can be a crime without consequences. It’s time to change that narrative in Minnesota, in the U.S. and in the world.
