Mayo Clinic Health System awards scholarships

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and Austin awarded 20 $1000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in its service area interested in pursuing an education in health care. According to a press release, the scholarship encourages students and gives them the opportunity to achieve their goals.
Health care scholarship recipients include Tanner Bellrichard, Nicholas Christianson, Emma Iverson, Ahnika Jensen, Emma Olson, Quinn Petersen, Haley Simon and Jacob Thompson, all of Albert Lea High School; Aleesha Anderson, Bailey Brooks, Sarah Eich and Ryan Kempen, all of Austin High School; Ashley Norby of LeRoy-Ostrander High School; Katherine Schiltz of Northwood-Kensett High School; Hailey Schuller of NRHEG, Olivia Gray, Laura Kiefer, Rachel Kloeckner and Miranda Merten of Southland High School; and Amelia Koster of St. Ansgar High School.
According to a press release, scholarships were awarded primarily on the basis of leadership, commitment, character and academic ability.
