Vikings tack on another win

After a rough start to the season, the Northwood-Kensett softball team has put together an impressive stretch of games.

The Vikings were 7-3 in their last 10 games, and they made it 8-3 in their last 11 with a 7-6 victory over Rockford Monday afternoon.

The Vikings got another impressive pitching performance from senior Shelby Low, as she threw another complete game.

She gave up eight hits and six runs while walking five and striking out six.

She also helped her cause at the plate by collecting two hits, two RBI and a stolen base.

The Vikings got an RBI each from Chloe Breitsprecher and Taylor Jorgensen, and five stolen bases on the day.

The victory pushes the Vikings’ record to 8-9 on the year.

The Vikings will travel to Riceville (0-12) tonight.

First pitch is slated for 7:15 p.m.
