GENEVA — A lot can happen in two years.

In the two years since Trisha Wayne purchased Bliss Beauty in Geneva — formerly Full Service Station — she’s proudest of how far she has come at such a young age, she said.

Wayne, 25, who used to work at the Geneva Full Service Station, purchased the business from owner Lisa Full after hearing the establishment was up for sale.

Wayne has another stylist on staff and Full still works at the salon one day a week, as well. Wayne said the shift in ownership allows Full to focus her time on the Full Service Station location she still owns in Medford, making it so she can provide services to her clientele in the area on a weekly basis.

Besides the name change, Wayne said few things have changed. The salon still offers haircuts, waxing, manicures, pedicures and a variety of chemical services, such as color treatments and perms.

Wayne hopes to expand these services in the future to include eyelash extensions and hair extensions. She said those are two services she fields questions about and she’d like to be able to provide those services to her customers

“It was a dream come true,” Wayne said of buying the salon. “I’ve always wanted my own place.”

The 2009 NRHEG graduate credited her father, Rodney Wayne, for helping her purchase the facility. Her father is a co-owner of the establishment, but he’s not involved in day-to-day business of the salon, she said.

“But he’s there whenever I need him,” Wayne said.

Before purchasing Bliss Beauty, Wayne attended Riverland Community College in Austin where she attained her cosmetology degree.

Upon graduation she worked at Fantastic Sam’s in Albert Lea. She worked there for three and a half years before working for Full for a year and then returning to Fantastic Sam’s.

At one point, Wayne admits she considered becoming a barber, but feared the change would limit her to doing mostly haircuts. She said she truly enjoys each of the services she is able to provide in a full service salon.

“I love everything I get to do with my job,” she said.
