Evelyn Smith, 1921-2016

Evelyn Smith of Albert Lea passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Community. She was 94.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Don Malinsky will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
Evelyn Marjorie was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Wells, to parents Clarence and Catherine (Moore) Warner. She grew up in the Albert Lea area and was a member of United Methodist Church for many years. On Oct. 15, 1939, she married Earl Webster Smith in Albert Lea. Together they raised a family of four children.
Over a 20 year span, Evelyn worked on the line at Wilson & Co. She was an artist who loved doing crafts, painting and sewing in her free time. She was great at baking and loved sharing her baked goods with friends, family and coworkers. Evelyn loved her family.
Survivors include children David (Ruth Ann) Smith, Marjorie Stephenson and Ricky (Stephanie) Smith; daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Smith; grandchildren Sherie (Mike) Latimore, Paul Smith (Glenda), Jay Smith (Emily), Tara (David) Ferguson, Scott (Jackie) Smith, Aaron (Sarah) Smith, Sofia Smith, LuAnn Berg and Dawn Shopa; great-grandchildren Liam, Drayson, Aiden, Joey, Breanna, Christian, Kalani, Arieona, Kiara, Jennifer, Shawn, Dawn, Carol, Abby, Owen, Viviene and Valtheran; great-great- grandchildren Malica, Caleb, Kristine, Alicia, Taylor, Mia and Christopher; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; son, Earl Duane Smith; all 12 of her brothers and sisters; son-in-law, Paul Stephenson; and infant great-grandson, Jacob.
