Hall of Fame banquet planned

The Albert Lea Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame banquet will be on Friday at Wedgewood Cove in Albert Lea. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner and inductions to begin at 6:30 p.m. The following day there will be a 4-person best shot golf event that will begin at 10 a.m. at Wedgewood Cove. Dinner tickets are $40 and golfing is $75 per player.
According to a press release, the Hall of Fame was established in 2010 for the purpose of acknowledging outstanding athletes, coaches and state championship teams that have made a historical contribution to the Albert Lea athletic program.

Proceeds from the event go to the Albert Lea Education Foundation to lower student participation fees. The event in 2014 raised over $8,000 and $37,000 has been raised since the event began in 2010.
