Memorial services for Marjorie Jean Evenson, 94, of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Douglas Mork will officiate. Interment will be at LeSueur River Cemetery in New Richland. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Marjorie died Monday, July 18, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.

Marjorie Evenson was born Aug. 18, 1921, in New Richland, the daughter of Otto and Susan (Sandretzky) Foels. She graduated from New Richland High School in 1938. On Sept. 11, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage to Oswald Evenson. She was a bookkeeper at various businesses, including St. John’s for many years. Marjorie was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Mission Circle, and the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion. She enjoyed roses, playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles and song birds. She loved time with family and had the ability to say the right thing at the right time, always comforting and undemanding.

Marjorie is survived by her children Susan Williams of Minneapolis, Julie (Dale) Erickson of Columbus and Craig (Margaret) Evenson of Northfield; son-in-law, Kim Page, of Minneapolis; grandchildren Garret (Alison) Williams of Los Angeles, Ted Erickson of St. Francis and Katie (Andrew) Bundermann of Ham Lake; great-grandchildren Lila and Vivian Williams of Los Angeles and Wyatt and Elliott Bundermann of Ham Lake; sister, Lola Mae Breilein, of Grand Ledge, Michigan; sisters-in-law Helen Mork and Lois Wasmoen of Albert Lea and Lenore Johnson of Shakopee; and cousin-in-law, Mary Lou Faudet, of Ellendale.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Oswald Evenson; daughter, Diane Evenson; siblings-in-law Stuart and Dorothy Evenson, George and Margaret Ellis, Don Breilein, Alvin Mork, Robert Johnson and Richard Wasmoen; and cousin, Marlow Spurr.
