Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative are asking their members to wait until after 7 p.m. today to use any unnecessary electric power. The peak alert has been issued due to high demands for electricity throughout the Midwest.

According to a press release, waiting until 7 p.m. will keep electricity costs low for members of the two entities.
