Political rhetoric needs to stop

In regards to the Philando Castile shooting, which occurred on July 6 near Falcon Heights and made national headlines — What on Earth was Gov. Mark Dayton thinking when he rushed to the nearest microphone and made several irresponsible statements before knowing any of the facts? One statement was, “Would this have happened if the passengers in the car were white?” Another was, “This kind of racism exists and it is incumbent on all of us to vow and ensure it doesn’t happen again.”
What he should have done instead, is to tell the public that a full investigation would be conducted so that we can know what all the facts are before making any judgments. I expect much better from our governor. This knee-jerk type of reaction is what fuels the anger and division we are seeing played out all over the country. President Obama is guilty of the same type of rhetoric and it needs to end.
