Sophie Marie Stultz, 8, of Albert Lea died Saturday, July 2, 2016, after a bicycle accident in Albert Lea.
Sophie was born Feb. 20, 2008, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, the daughter of Jason and Sarah Stultz. She had one brother, Landon.
Sophie attended Lakeview Elementary School and was preparing to enter the third grade. She loved to learn and read. She also enjoyed playing the piano and attending Kids College through the Freeborn County Arts Initiative. She had a growing love of the arts.
She loved meeting new people and easily became friends with all people she met, both young and old.
On March 19, Sophie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her church family and learning about her savior, Jesus Christ. She was proud of her faith and often invited her friends to attend church with her.
Sophie is survived by her parents; her brother; grandparents Barry and Julie Light of Roanoke, Virginia, and Bruce and Marjorie Stultz of Fort Collins, Colorado; great-grandparents Marilyn and Leland Watson of Hot Springs, South Dakota; aunts Kimberly (Troy) Tylka, Jessica (Thomas) Mitchell and Melissa Stultz; and several great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Albert Lea High School auditorium. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the high school.
Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea.
