The Lake Mills Area Historical Society will host its annual wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres fundraising event at a special location this year.
The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bakken-Pederson century house at 201 E. Main St. in Lake Mills.
The house was built in 1916 by the M.O. Bakken family and has only had four owners — according to a press release from the Lake Mills Area Historical Society — the longest span being the Pederson family’s ownership, which has lasted 55 years.
The event will include hor d’oeuvres, wine and the chance to speak with the home’s owner, Phyllis Pederson, as well as some of her family. The cost of the event is $12 and will include a complimentary wine glass etched with the Bakken-Pederson house.
