I just want to add something on the buffer strip regulations. It all helps, but most of the run off into the ditches comes through the tile and then goes into the ditch. It does not run over the edge of the field through the buffer strip and then into the ditch. The only way to prevent some of these problems is to reduce the amount of chemicals applied to the farmland that in fact goes into the soil and into the tile and directly into the watershed.
