Identity of man shot and killed to be released next week

The identity of a Freeborn County man who was shot and killed Tuesday night at Myre-Big Island State Park is expected to be released early next week.

The man, who was found dead in a 2001 Audi station wagon with two gunshot wounds to the head, has been described as being in his early to mid 20s.

David Michael Easter, 26, of Brownsdale was arrested and is facing one count of second-degree murder in the shooting death. Easter has claimed the shooting was done in self defense.
