Man injured in crash

One person was injured in a crash reported at 1:33 p.m. Thursday at 2751 E. Main St.

According to Albert Lea police, Mark David Russell was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

Russell reportedly pulled his vehicle out from Happy Trails Lane across East Main Street, attempting to head east, and failed to yield, according to the Albert Lea Police Department.

A vehicle driven by Jiro Gerardo Andrade-De Leon, 18, was driving a vehicle east on East Main Street when he struck Russell’s vehicle, veered and struck a light pole. Andrade-De Leon was not transported.

3 arrested on warrants

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jose Alfonso Francis Avelar Jr., 34, on a Mower County warrant at 2:18 p.m. Thursday at 411 S. Broadway Ave.

Albert Lea police arrested Adam Mikkel Clay, 33, on a local warrant at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at 1333 Abbott St.

Albert Lea police arrested Dane Robert Nelson, 26, on a Department of Corrections warrant at 9:15 p.m. Thursday at 408 High St.

House damaged

Three approximately 12- to 14-year-old children were reportedly breaking windows on a house at 7:26 p.m. Thursday at 2407 Islandview Drive.

Campaign sign stolen

A large campaign sign was reported taken at 10:14 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Freeborn County Road 20 and Plaza Street.

Theft by fraud reported

A bad check was reported taken in at 12:54 p.m. Thursday at MarketPlace Foods.

Threatening messages reported

A text message was reported received with a picture of a shotgun threatening judges and the reporting person at 6:54 p.m. Thursday at 1804 S.E. Marshall St.
