A.L. C.C. runs in Winona

The Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ cross country was in action Saturday in Winona.

The boys’ team had one of their best finishes of the year, coming in sixth place out of 17 teams.

Once again, Carson Goodell led the way for the Tigers. He came in eighth place with a time of 17:38. Leo Olveda finished 16th, Jayden Douglas 21st, Grant Herfindahl 44th and J.V. Moreno 46th.

Autumn Muilenburg finished in sixth place on the girls’ side.

“We continue to improve each and every week,” said Tigers coach Jim Haney. “I was very happy with the team. The boys’ team was only two points away from finishing in fourth place. Each week we are starting to figure out how to be more comeptitive and now we are seeing better results.

The Tigers will run in Mankato Tuesday.

Start time for the race is scheduled for 3:45 p.m.
