Absentee ballots are available at the Freeborn County Courthouse.
The ballots will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through Nov. 7, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, 411 S. Broadway.
To vote absentee by mail, complete and submit an absentee ballot application online at mnvotes.org, or download an application from the website and mail, email or fax it to the Auditor-Treasurer’s Office.
“Election officials will mail the absentee ballot materials to you soon after receiving your application,” Freeborn County Auditor Pat Martinson said in a news release. “Be sure to follow the directions included with your ballot materials. You can request an absentee ballot if you are not currently registered to vote — a voter registration form will be provided with your ballot.”
Between 800 to 1,200 absentee votes are submitted each election year in Freeborn County, Martinson said.
No campaigning is allowed within 100 feet of or in the building, per state statute, Martinson said.
Anyone with questions or information is advised to contact 377-5121 or visit the office’s website at www.co.freeborn.mn.us and look for auditor-treasurer under the departments tab.
