There has been a lot of talk about inaction in the Legislature this year. That is not always a bad thing, remember the Democrats controlled both houses and the governorship and they passed a lot of bills. We got one of the largest income tax increases in history. We got MNsure, one of the worst-run insurance programs ever; we got increased gas taxes. They didn’t get much done to help outstate Minnesota. They did get gay marriage. This year, a good tax bill with property tax relief for rural farmers was held up by Democrats like Dan Sparks who put metro light rail ahead of his rural residents.
