Lake Mills won all six matches — 12 sets — handily to cruise to the tournament title.
We did a good job coming out of the gate,” said Bulldogs coach Jim Boehmer. “It was much better than it had been the last two weekends.”
Lake Mills defeated Eagle Grove, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, North Iowa, Manson and Bishop Garrigan.
The Bulldogs beat their opponents by a combined average of 11.25 points.
Robyn Bowman finished with 88 assists and Lexi Groe was dominant with 44 kills. Those two led a plethora of Bulldog players who performed very well Saturday.
“Individually, we have some incredible talent with some kids who love to work hard,” Boehmer said. “But now our focus will shift to trying to win the Top of Iowa Conference. We have two tough matches left — North Iowa and Forest City — so we need to have a good week of practice.”
The Bulldogs are still perfect on the year — 62-0 in sets and 28-0 overall.
Lake Mills will host North Iowa Tuesday night for senior night.
Start time for the match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
With a victory Tuesday, Boehmer will notch win No. 750 in his coaching career.
