Man gets at least 31 years in prison for woman’s death

MIDLAND, Mich. — An ex-convict who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges in the death of a woman found after a Michigan house fire is getting more than 30 years in prison.
According to a press release, Gregory Rose was sentenced Thursday to between 31 and 70 years in prison. Midland County Circuit Judge Stephen Carras said to the 47-year-old, “You can never again be out.”
Gregory Rose was arrested in November in Carlton County, Minnesota, after a high-speed chase. He was traveling in a vehicle stolen from the Army Corps of Engineers. He was returned to Michigan and charged with home invasion and other crimes before being charged with murder.
Sixty-seven-year-old Connie Eileen Pajunen of Shepherd was found dead with stab wounds Nov. 13 in Midland County’s Greendale Township.
