Tigers swimming and diving fall to Huskies

The Albert Lea girls’ swimming and diving team hosted Owatonna Thursday night in search of its first victory of the season.
The Tigers got some solid individual performances, but still came up short against the Huskies, losing 96-79.
Emily Taylor took first place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:21.55, winning by four seconds over Owatonna’s Hanna Roberts. In the same race, Taylor’s teammate Lexie Simon finished fourth with a time of 2:55.40.
In the 100 fly, Jaeda Koziolek finished second with a time of 1:13.50 and Emily Jensen finished third with a time of 1:20.16.
Lydia Boorsma came in third place in the 100 free with a time of 1:03.86. Alana Skarstad won the girls 500 free in a time of 6:18.29, beating Ellie Youngquist of Owatonna by two seconds.
The duo of Taylor Nafzger and Simon Skarstad took second in the 200 relay with a time of 1:52.17.
Taylor won the 100 breaststroke finishing in a time of 1:12.01.
Albert Lea will face Rochester John Marshall, in Rochester, Thursday.
Start time for the meet is scheduled for 6 p.m.
