Weekend Planner: Historical museum to open for Autumn in the Village event

The Freeborn County Historical Museum, Library & Village will host the annual Autumn in the Village on Saturday.
During the event, which is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be demonstrations by local artisans, crafts and games for children and access to all of the museum exhibits.
Tickets are $7.50 for adults, $2 for ages 12 to 18 and free for museum members and children.
Apple pie and ice cream, crumble burgers, hot dogs, chips, sarsaparilla, pop, water and coffee will be available for purchase.
The historical museum is at 1031 Bridge Ave.
The following is a roundup of other events taking place this weekend:
Friday
• The Cliff and Carol Rask art collection exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albert Lea Art Center.
• “This Show Rocks” by artist Susanne Crane will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Freeborn County Arts Initiative.
Saturday
• The Albert Lea Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon in the Northbridge Mall parking lot.
• The Cliff and Carol Rask art collection exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Albert Lea Art Center.
• Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church will host a salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch includes salads, ham and turkey sandwiches and bars. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 10 and free for preschoolers.
• “This Show Rocks” by artist Susanne Crane will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Freeborn County Arts Initiative.
• The Church of All Saints in New Richland will host a fall festival starting at 3 p.m. The festival kicks off with family fun from 3 to 7:30 p.m. under the big tent. Just Friends Singers will perform at 3:30 p.m. with mass to follow at 4 p.m. A turkey sandwich supper will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meal is $8 or $3 for children under 5.
There will also be a silent auction, bingo, raffle, a country store and outdoor games.
• A benefit in memory of Kristin Knudtson Lee will begin at 5 p.m. at Harold’s Bar, 1318 E. Main St. There is a $5 cover charge at the door, with drink and food specials throughout the night. A silent auction will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Proceeds go to support Lee’s headstone, as well as the American Cancer Society.
• The Glenville American Legion Auxiliary will host a steak fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Glenville American Legion. Menu includes a 10-ounce sirloin, baked potato, cole slaw and bread. Cost is $13.
• The 41st annual Freeborn County Pheasant and Habitat Banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the 4-H Building at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. Dinner is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include the meal and a chance at one of the 10 grand prizes. Call Irene Jones at 507-438-8493 for advance tickets.
Sunday
• The Alano Society of Albert Lea will host a breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at 1005 N. Ulstad Ave. Menu includes pancakes, french toast, eggs, hash browns, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Cost is $6 for all you can eat.
