5 Things to do This Weekend

1. Halloween carnival

Power 96 and Country Inn & Suites will host a Hotel Halloween Carnival from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at 2214 E. Main St.

Rooms will be decorated for children to trick-or-treat sponsored by local businesses, and the public will vote on their favorite rooms. First-, second- and third-place plaques will be given out to the winners.

Complimentary Halloween bags will be given out to the first 500 children, and over $8,000 in prizes will be given out.

Participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items to donate to the food shelf. Costumes are optional.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Albert Lea police and fire departments will be in attendance to talk about safe trick-or-treating.

2. Haunted house at the Worth County Fair Grandstand

A haunted house sponsored by Northwood-Kensett post prom volunteers will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Worth County Fair Grandstand.

Volunteers will guide groups through the haunted house. Children 10 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult to tour the haunted house.

The event is a fundraiser for the Northwood-Kensett post prom 2017. Cost is $5 per person.

3. Albert Lea Lens and Shutter Club exhibit

Albert Lea Lens and Shutter Club members will showcase some of their favorite personal photographs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Albert Lea Art Center, 226 W. Clark St.

The show continues through Nov. 23.

4. “Mid-Life! The Crisis Musical”

Albert Lea Community Theatre will continue its performances of “Mid-Life! The Crisis Musical” at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Shows will be at 7:30 pm. Friday and Saturday.

The musical is directed by Rory Mattson with music direction by Barb Lang.

Cost is $18 for an adult and $10 for a student.

5. Card and collectibles show

A card and collectibles show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Northbridge Mall, 2510 Bridge Ave.
