I attended the forum at Riverland last night for District 27 candidates. I came away impressed with Gene Dornink.  He comes across with a genuineness that is rare. He is an honest, hardworking man of integrity. He has the same background as many of us. This gives him an understanding of the challenges of making a living in southern Minnesota.

He grew up on a farm and attended Riverland. He was a member of the carpenter’s union for many years and after being laid off has started a small business to support his family. He would serve us well as our state senator. He would always cast his vote for us.

I encourage you to vote for Gene Dornink for state Senate District 27 on Nov. 8.
