Learning the importance of voting

As the 18-21 transition program students are learning about their right to vote, becoming a registered voter and the voting process — as well as all the issues — they have had many questions along the way. To help them understand the life of an elected official, as well speak to someone who may be able to answer their questions, 27A Rep. Peggy Bennett was invited to class. Being a longtime teacher herself, she did a great job explaining the system in terms the students could understand when she visited on Tuesday. She was able to answer most of the student’s questions. - Provided
