HASTINGS — A judge has denied a request from a Lakeville woman convicted of hiding her two daughters to serve her prison time all at once.
Sandra Grazzini-Rucki wanted to serve up to eight months in prison instead of six years of probation and 15 days in jail each year until 2022. One of Grazzini-Rucki’s attorneys said the decision by the Dakota County judge Monday is “legally questionable,” adding that the ruling is “an irrational act.”
According to a press release, attorney Stephen Grisby said the prosecutor agreed to let Grazzini-Rucki serve her time all at once. She was convicted of hiding her two teenage daughters from their father during a bitter divorce. The girls were found at a ranch in Herman in October 2015, about a year and a-half after they disappeared.
