Owatonna teen injured in crash

An Owatonna teenager was injured in a sideswipe crash Thursday on Interstate 35, north of Ellendale.

Tori M. Keck, 17, was transported to Owatonna Hospital with an injury deemed not life-threatening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Keck was driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am north on I-35 when it struck the rear corner of a 2009 Kenworth semi at 11:50 p.m., two miles north of the Ellendale exit.

The driver of the semi, Dennis Mccarthy, 61, of Badger Iowa, was reportedly not injured in the crash.

The Steele County Sheriff’s Office and Ellendale fire and ambulance crews assisted.

Keck and Mccarthy were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report stated.
