For your consideration, I proudly present Gary Schindler for state representative, the DFL candidate for the hotly-contested 27A House seat in southern Minnesota:
• A former teacher and school counselor
• A former college counselor and financial aid director
• College administrator focused on student services (dean of students) at Riverland Community College
• College accreditation officer
• Bonding bill writer and reviewer
• He helps students access a college education, helping them find ways to pay for college, and providing them support to help them graduate and find employment or transfer to a university
• The son of a union carpenter, who received help from the GI Bill to go to trade school, after his service during the Korean War
• A member of the Sons of the American Legion
• A supervisor who manages four bargaining unit contracts and one who respects the words and work it took to develop them
• Someone who is active in his church and community. (Lions Club, Grace Lutheran Church, Freeborn County Museum, Youth Apprenticeship Advisor Committee)
• A father of two children
• A husband of a nurse working at a senior living community and care center.
• Ready to go to St. Paul to take action for:
— workforce development
— affordable college education
— a comprehensive transportation plan
— a comprehensive plan to provide broadband Internet to rural Minnesota
— adequate funding for Pre-K to grade 12 education
— incentives to support the development of workforce housing in our communities in Greater Minnesota
— an increase in local government aid
— having Greater Minnesota be at the center of public policy and planning in this state.
