Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to take care of themselves while taking care of another. The class is sponsored by Senior Resources’ Family Caregiver Network.
The program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions. According to a press release, two experienced class leaders conduct the series. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help participants take the tools they choose and put them into action in their daily life.
Participants will receive “The Caregiver Helpbook” developed specifically for the class. A donation to help defray the cost of the book is suggested, but not required to attend the class.
Sessions are from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting this week. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
