Memorial services for Jasmine Michael Newman Evans, 21, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Jasmine died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 28, 2016.
Jasmine Michael Newman Evans, a force of nature, was born Aug. 21, 1995, in Albert Lea to Daniel Lee Evans and Ivy Ruth Obermoller (Newman).
Jasmine grew up in Clarks Grove, Albert Lea and Northfield. She attended school in Albert Lea, Northfield and Alden and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 2013.
Jasmine was born with the heart of an artist and would draw or write constantly. She loved music and she added creativity to each activity that she participated in. Most importantly, Jasmine was a fierce and loyal friend. She was always quick with a smile or a joke and loved to laugh. Her friends and family were the most important things to her in this world. She was full of love.
Jasmine is survived by her parents Ivy Newman and Dan and Ivy Evans; brothers Logan Evans, Mitchell Newman and Cole Newman; grandparents Jim and Penny Obermoller, Doug and Mary Evans, Steve and Renee Bardon, and Lynn and Nancy Strand; aunts and uncles Amber and Eli Montalvo, Jason and Lisa Evans, and Levi and Tracy Strand; great-grandmothers Kathleen Frisk, Mary Ellen Evans and Ruth Strand; cousins Bryn and Maggie Evans, Keaton Strand and Courtney Smith; and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Jasmine was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Viola and Earl Obermoller, Lorraine and Donald Carlson, Merrill Frisk, Kenneth Evans, Clayton and Shirley Hatteli, Lyle Strand and Richard Shrank; aunt, Marcia Frisk; and uncle, Dick Chaffee.
